Borrego Springs

Settlers arrived in the area in 1910, and farmers followed after a successful well was dug in 1926. 

Twenty years later, developer A.A Burnand and other financial backers formed the Borrego land and Development Company and subdivided 1,800 acres.

Get starry-eyed with Borrego's nightly celestial show the town is an official International Dark Sky Community.

Annual events include the Peg Leg Smith Liars Contest, named after prospector Thomas L. Smith, where storytellers spin tales about Smith or los gold.
