    Fallbrook

    History

This home to oak, olive and avocado trees took root from 160-acres parcel settled in 1869 by homesteaders Vital and Amelia Reche. A store and hotel were built in 1885, and Fallbrook Union High School was established eight years later.

Olive trees were a cash crop beginning in the 1920s, with avocados and the floral industry taking over after World War II. Many Min Street building are historic, and with 50,000 resident spread over 127 square miles, the city retains its pioneering charm.
