    History

    American settlers first arrived in the mind-1800s, and the first brick buildings were erected on downtown's Main Street in the 1800s. In 1900, the towns was home to many agricultural ranches. 

    Today, its fastest-growing crop is grapes. Ramona Valley was designated an official American Viticultural Area in January 2006. The number of boutique wineries exploded from to about 30 in five years.
