History

Vista was incorporated in 1963, but the city's roots strech back to the mind-1800s when the mexican goverment issued land grants for large ranches, incluiding the Ranncho Guajome an Rancho Buena Vista.
The latter inspired the town's name in 1882. Once a steady water supply was established in the 1920's agriculture flourished, including avocados, tomatoes and citrus.
Today, the commerce is a mix of industrial manufacturing, auto sales and more than a doze breweries.

Things to do

Besides year-round beer tasting on Vista's famed Hops Highway and summer theater at the Moonlight, guest can take an educational stroll through the Alta Vista Botanical Gardens or the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum.
Vista offers several annual events: the San Diego Scottish Highland Games in June and the Summer Grass Bluegrass music festival in August
